Ever since Round Two started expanding across the States we’ve been wishing for a store in Chicago. After all, Chicago and sneaker culture go hand in hand or should we say sole to soul (ummm yeah just gonna run with that).
What started as a website to sell vintage clothing and sneakers has now turned into not only a virtual but also physical international phenomenon with the stores. Sean Wotherspoon, Chris Russow and Luke Fracher are the guys responsible for this. Since opening their first store in Virginia back in 2013 they have now expanded to New York, L.A. and Miami. In their Youtube series The Show By Round Two, customers are seen coming from all over the world just to be a part of the culture. The unique thing about the store is that people can buy, sell and trade all in one place. Along the way they’ve had pop up stores in London, Paris and Tokyo where the customer turnouts have been unreal too. Now, it’s time for the people of Chicago to get their foot in the door.
Speculation for a Chicago store began when Wotherspoon posted this photo of Chicago back in October 2018. Recently, Russow has also been spotted location hunting around the city. The exact location of the store is yet to be determined but Don C advised Chris to “Checkout Bucktown/Wicker Park – near RSVP Gallery.”
In the most recent Round Two episode on Youtube, Wotherspoon further confirms that a Chicago store is coming in 2019 (2:16:48). Prediction is that it’ll open before July 2019 in time for Complex Con Chicago which is also coming to Chicago for the first time this year.
