5 Aussie Artists You Need In Your Life In 2019

JOY.

Ever since discovering JOY. on the Listen Out 2016 lineup, I’ve been in love with her angelic sound. She describes herself perfectly as a producer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who crafts ethereal and introspective electro-pop songs anchored by sultry, hypnotic vocals. Supporting Demi Lovato’s Tell Me You Love Me World Tour in 2018, she’s an Aussie to look out for.

Her EP’s ODE and Six delve into the world of heartbreak and hurt, feelings we all know too well. The music is about falling for someone but learning to let go of them and trying to find peace. Her self-produced mixtape JOY TO THE WORLD takes on a more hip hop feel with the bass hitting hard – perfect for those night time drives.

MUTO

Sydneysider MUTO has supported ODESZA on their A Moment Apart Europe Tour in 2017 and he’s also best friends with Flume (just casually putting that out there).

He’s got a chill electronic sound. Do yourself a favour and listen to Say Nothing and Cloud Party because your ears will thank you. Keen to hear more out of this world bangers from MUTO in the future because he’s only just getting started.

Young Franco

Listening to Young Franco makes you want to dance your heart out. His tunes are perfect for a house party (or dancing solo in your bedroom). Definitely check out About This Thing, Drop Your Love and Miss You.

If you’re in Sydney in June, catch him at Curveball 2019 alongside Hayden James, Mallrat, Touch Sensitive, Set Mo and more.

REGI FLIH

Hot off releasing his debut single Something For Me, REGI is an Australian singer, songwriter and producer. Described as having a more of a trap, r&b and soul vibe, we can only imagine what this fusion of genres sounds like. If you love Bryson Tiller, anders, and DVSN time to add REGI FLIH to your playlist. No doubt, REGI will be one to look out for in 2019.

Tyler Rivers

Having recently released his second single Young & Naive, Tyler is bringing his distinct r&b and soul sound to music fans around Australia and beyond. Tyler is already putting his name on the map, supporting both Tory Lanez and August Alsina on their Australian tours. His new single is a blend of smooth beats and captivating lyrics and we’re excited to see what’s in store for Tyler in the future.

Pav

In case you're wondering, no Pav is not short for Pavlova but my sweet tooth would argue otherwise (it's @itspav_ on Instagram). Currently in the full time world of marketing. When I'm not at work, you can find me at a gig, the gym or going on an adventure (usually outside of Australia)!
