Summer is just around the corner which means beaches, sand, summer flings and getting your tan on. But the most important thing by far is sorting out all your music festival plans ASAP. With so many festivals popping up, we honestly can’t even keep up! Here’s a list of all the festivals you need to attend this summer in New Zealand.

Rhythm & Vines

There’s no better way to bring in the new year than at R & V in Gisborne. It’s the place to be to experience the first sunrise of the new decade. Last years line up included; Juice WRLD, Vince Staples, Flight Facilities and Duke Dumont. The guys over at R & V know how to throw a party so it’s only going to get bigger and better this year to end this decade with a bang. Even though the line up is yet to be released, tickets are nearly sold out so grab yours now! It’s all going down 28th December to 31st December 2019.

Rhythm & Alps

Take a trip to the Southern Alps of New Zealand for Rhythm & Alps. It’s the place to be for all those ‘gram pics, from magnificent mountains to the picture perfect Lake Wanaka, it’s all here. But the thing we’re most excited about is the lineup. This year we’re blessed with Wilkinson, RL GRIME, Freddie Gibbs and Honey Dijon to set the vibes heading into the new decade. This is an end of decade party you won’t want to miss. Get your tickets now for December 29th 2019 to January 1st 2020.

Bay Dreams

Grab all your bae’s and make your dreams come true by heading to Bay Dreams. AKA the only way to celebrate the start of a new decade. It’s taking place at The Mount on January 2nd 2020 and Nelson on January 4th 2020, we recommend going to both because why the fuck not? A new decade only comes around every ten years! This years line up has got us HYPE AF. Halsey, Tyler The Creator, Skepta, Yelawolf, Ella Mai, Gunna, Shoreline Mafia all in one place? Our mind is blown. GA tickets on sale August 14th 2019, this is a festival you definitely need to attend this summer. (Note: Halsey isn’t playing Nelson date).

Which way? Laneway. This festival takes over Albert Park every January and has almost become tradition for us. This years line up included; A Boogie With A Hoodie, Billie Eilish, Courtney Barnett and Denzel Curry. The 2020 line up announcement is coming very soon but we already know this music festival is one to mark down in your calendars for the summer.

Listen In

Listen In is back for another year, this time with a new home at Mt Smart Stadium. It features all the main acts from Australia’s Listen Out. The NZ line up includes; Flume, Diplo, ScHoolboy Q, 6LACK and Slowthai. With so many bangers among this line up you already know each set will be one to remember. Get your tickets now for October 4th 2019 (that’s basically summer right? lol).

Don’t get left sitting at home with FOMO, head to FOMO instead. It’s taking place outdoors at the Trusts Arena January 15th 2020. The line up consists of Brockhampton, Kaytranada, Lizzo and Rico Nasty. The best thing is there are no clashes, you get to party together with all your friends at one stage. No more losing your friends or telling them you’ll meet them inside aka never seeing them ever again. Grab those tickets and make 2020 your best year yet.

One of the newer festivals on the list, Hidden is definitely one of the best kept secrets. This year we had Kayzo, Lil Yachty, and J.I.D deliver thrilling performances at Ellerslie Racecourse. The 2020 line up is coming soon but we already know this is a must attend festival this summer. Stay on the look out for more.

Northern Bass

Northern Bass recently announced their line up and looks like it’s about to be a whole damn movie. Based in Mangawhai, this is another way to celebrate the new year.
